Here I go, on my yearly journey to AZ. I'm nearly ready to get out the door; just have to load my car with the last of the four zillion things I always end up taking. I hate not taking something and needing it.

It's a 'work' trip, really, as I will be at a booth for fifteen days straight. It isn't as bad as you would think. Some of the days are quite slow and I can zone out into story-land. I usually come back itching to write. Last year I came back and just went nuts with a few chapters right off the bat.

This begins the busy time of the year for me. I'll be home for a week or two, then gone for a week or two, right up until fall, most likely. I'll get to see other cities and meet new people and have strange adventures.

I will, however, miss my happy apartment so much, and I will miss you all very much. LJ has become such a part of my life. Since April I've been typing up my thoughts and babblings and it's really gotten to be a habit that I enjoy. I've met so many amazing artists and writers and photographers---this has really been a great way to spend time. I love reading everyone's entries. I read every single flist entry, honest!

So let me know if something major happens while I'm away, because, of course, I am going to miss out on a lot, and we all know that you can't skip very far back. I'll be returning on the 19th of February.

I will miss you all! Have a lovely, prosperous, healthy month, and I'll see you when I return!

*hugs*

;) You can friend me anytime. As long as you like squid poetry, you are welcome here. *grin*

Thanks. I've been doing some expanding of "Squid Poetry", and have sent something of a proposal to [livejournal.com profile] junediamanti, to get her feedback. Haven't heard, which probably means it's even beyond her sense of taste. Oh, dear. But [Unknown site tag] liked it. Interested? If so, send me an email at avus1927@yahoo.com, and I'll email it to you. Not ready, yet, to have it be lj public.

Right now, I'm in the midst of beginning to post a very difficult fanfic, which several people have been good enough to recommend, Getting Harry Back, two chapters of which are up on Schnoogle on fictionalley. Don't know whether all that high drama was getting to me and I just needed to release. But I suddenly found myself thinking in limericks.

There are worse disorders. I treat many of them. Unfortunately, I don't have a treatment plan in place for this one.

Sigh.

I'll try again to put the other person in who actually enjoyed the proposal: [livejournal.com profile] privatemaladict. If that doesn't come through, it's privatemaladict.

Do you have Semagic? If not, I would suggest it. It is an intermediary program that acts as a go-between for you and LJ. It is an awesome, awesome program. You'll never lose an entry again. It makes everything easy. You can find it here (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/semagic/Semagic1468for2k.exe?download) and it is a free download.

I checked it out, but I'm a bit intimidated. I'm not sure what I'm downloading. It looks as if I'd be connecting myself with some advertising, and I'm VERY loathe to do that. I've had extremely bad luck doing that. One shut my computer down for several weeks.

Am I mistaking something? It doesn't seem like a simple download? And what, pray tell, is a mirror, and how would I know which "mirror" to select?

And if you don't have time for fussing w/ a very nervous technoklutz, I will entirely understand.

You would be downloading the program itself, nothing more. A "mirror" site simply hosts the download as a courtesy. I usually choose the US Minnesota site to download it from, but you can pick any of them, I'm certain. I can assure you that, at least from what I've experienced, that I have never seen any advertising and that it is a completely helpful piece of programming. Also, I have mentioned this program on my LJ before, and several others on my flist use it now as well, and I've never heard any complaints. :)

Right now, I am a teensy bit crazed with time, simply because I have a few chapters to zoom through and four bazillion LJ entries to catch up on. I will only be home for seven days and then I'll be running off again. Otherwise I would leap on your offer. When I get back from my next few days away then I'll e-mail you! :)

I'm certain June will get back to you soon...I'd guess that she gets a lot of e-mail and she is very active on LJ, so, I'm certain that it's not the poetry, it's the time factor.

I have been quite looking forward to reading your fic! I'll get to it in March, and I can't wait!
