Pics from this week. Mostly pictures of daylilies for [livejournal.com profile] greenpear & co., but also pics of other flowers, and dragonflies for [livejournal.com profile] little_tristan. Keep in mind that it rained this morning and that means the flowers weren't necessarily at their best.

Clematis! Husband's grandmother planted these, and they're just beautiful.

Daylilies. First: The awesome black-eyed Susan daylily, which I've never seen before. It's even more vivid in person.

Oh, please, hibiscus, do not perish over the winter.

Dead tree on our property. I love the light in the background, all nice and green and enchanted.

Just for Tristan:

Dragonfly

Dragonfly

These were the regular size dragonflies--there were HUGE dragonflies zooming around, the size of small hummingbirds, I swear, but none got close enough for me to take a picture, wah! I'll keep trying, though.

Also, these dragonflies were electric light blue, and I'm sorry that my camera just couldn't capture it. :(

Grass with a few drops of rain still on it.

My teensy attempt at an herb garden.

A different view of the pond.

HOMG TURTLE!!!!!!! First one I've seen! And he disappeared 2.6 seconds after I took this. heh.

Color me bright green with jealousy for your GORGEOUS flowers -- LOVE the clematis! And dragonflies FTW - we've got a bunch of them this year, too.

But... my hollyhocks are in bloom this summer after waiting two years for them to grow! \o/

The clematis is insane! Too bad Husband forgot to train the other clematis, and it's literally in a heap on the ground. :(

And wow--hollyhocks!!! That's awesome. Go you! I hope we'll get pics of those...

I am so excited! I've never seen a turtle in the pond before. Frogs, yes, but the turtle is a first. And thank goodness he held for just a second before diving!

I'll try to get more pond pics together. ;) I'm thinking about doing a few more closeup sessions with the pond.

If you ever want to...er...vacation in Detroit, lol, you are so welcome to come and stay with us and check out the pond firsthand!! :)

Wow... beautiful and amazing, color and pictures. Would you mind if I snagged a couple to use to make textures and such? It's always nicer to use things from someone I know. (But I won't feel bad, or insulted if you say no - photos can be a personal thing *s*)

Oh, sure! I'm so glad you think they're worth using for textures. Awesomeness! Use whatever you want, sweetie. :)

Aw, awesome clematis! I've been trying to grow these but it's too dark and damp where I want them.

The dragonfly is lovely, too!

The clematis are fabulous! Too bad one set of them is in a giant clump on the ground because Husband didn't have time to train them. :(

I adore your clematis! Ours didn´t like the place we asigned to her, too windy.

And I absolutely love it, that you like Hibiscus! I´ve got one, too, and it´s growing slowly, but steady. I think the flowers will be blue.

And OMG turtle in the pond! And dragonflies! How wonderful.

How´s your sight?

I love the clematis! They're so beautiful. I hope that the hibiscus survives to next year, but I am not very optimistic!

I am so excited that I saw the turtle! squee!!

My sight still sucks. My new glasses should be in by the end of the week, and we'll see what happens. *fingers crossed* Thanks for asking!

What a lovely yard! And I'm so jealous of the dragonflies. I haven't seen one since Kenny Whiskers caught one and brought it into the house for me a couple summers ago.:)

We have a strange backyard--so much of it is pond, and most of it slopes down to the pond, but you're right, it's really nice. ;)

I'm really hoping to get a pic of a giant dragonfly. Or at least one of the red ones with gold wings. Stay tuned!

The dragon fly is gorgeous. My mother used to say that they would sew your mouth shut if you misbehaved, so I am still a little scared of them, lol. (Yeah, I know--what a creepy thing to tell a little kid.) Daylilies are my favorite flower! Around here, the wild species grow in the ditches along country roads in June.
What a beautiful yard with all those flowers and a pond (of which I am insanely jealous).

That is totally creepy and I'm still shuddering! eee!

You love daylilies too? That's awesome! I keep trying to find more cool daylilies. And we have the wild ones, too; they grown in our ditch.

The flower beds still need lots of work, honestly, but it's starting to really look better up front. We still have a couple of those awful shrubs, but the rest is now all daylilies and spirea. squee!

The herb garden is very teeny, sad to say! There were almost no herbs left. That's okay--I'm sure the basil will take over anyway. ;)
