Pics from this week. Mostly pictures of daylilies for
greenpear & co., but also pics of other flowers, and dragonflies for
little_tristan. Keep in mind that it rained this morning and that means the flowers weren't necessarily at their best.
Clematis! Husband's grandmother planted these, and they're just beautiful.

Two different patches of daisies.

Daylilies. First: The awesome black-eyed Susan daylily, which I've never seen before. It's even more vivid in person.

Oh, please, hibiscus, do not perish over the winter.

Dead tree on our property. I love the light in the background, all nice and green and enchanted.

Just for Tristan:

These were the regular size dragonflies--there were HUGE dragonflies zooming around, the size of small hummingbirds, I swear, but none got close enough for me to take a picture, wah! I'll keep trying, though.
Also, these dragonflies were electric light blue, and I'm sorry that my camera just couldn't capture it. :(
Grass with a few drops of rain still on it.

My teensy attempt at an herb garden.

A different view of the pond.

HOMG TURTLE!!!!!!! First one I've seen! And he disappeared 2.6 seconds after I took this. heh.

Date: 2010-06-27 06:49 pm (UTC)I'll try to get more pond pics together. ;) I'm thinking about doing a few more closeup sessions with the pond.
If you ever want to...er...vacation in Detroit, lol, you are so welcome to come and stay with us and check out the pond firsthand!! :)

Date: 2010-06-27 08:59 pm (UTC)And I absolutely love it, that you like Hibiscus! I´ve got one, too, and it´s growing slowly, but steady. I think the flowers will be blue.
And OMG turtle in the pond! And dragonflies! How wonderful.
How´s your sight?

Date: 2010-06-27 09:46 pm (UTC)I am so excited that I saw the turtle! squee!!
My sight still sucks. My new glasses should be in by the end of the week, and we'll see what happens. *fingers crossed* Thanks for asking!

Date: 2010-06-28 10:46 am (UTC)I'm really hoping to get a pic of a giant dragonfly. Or at least one of the red ones with gold wings. Stay tuned!

Date: 2010-06-28 12:52 am (UTC)What a beautiful yard with all those flowers and a pond (of which I am insanely jealous).

Date: 2010-06-28 10:48 am (UTC)You love daylilies too? That's awesome! I keep trying to find more cool daylilies. And we have the wild ones, too; they grown in our ditch.
The flower beds still need lots of work, honestly, but it's starting to really look better up front. We still have a couple of those awful shrubs, but the rest is now all daylilies and spirea. squee!
