[Recap: Some of you might remember that at one of the HP conventions, gmonkey42 and I put together a Snape and his Mary Sues presentation. In order to put the presentation together, we had to read a bunch of HP fanfics featuring Sues who were paired with Snape. The other night, I was scribbling notes on scrap paper, and realized that the paper in question was from a printout of the spreadsheet that we built to house the data. And then I started laughing at the quote, and I thought that we really should share the profiles because they're just too much fun not to.]

• Name of Sue: Mauve Bloodthorn


• Other: no physical description yet - it's a WIP that was never finished


• Exchange student or DADA professor?: University student, so yes.
  
• Went to Hogwarts with Snape/Marauders?: no


• Unique magic ability: Hogwarts leads her to classes on time but after hours it leads her to new and interesting parts of the castle!


• Other: speaks Old English (or "ancient English")


• Totally uncharacteristic Snape moments: SETS HIS OWN HAIR ON FIRE and the Sue saves him but he gets all mad at her: he thinks she's ruined the potion he was making but he doesn't realize it's a sooper speshul potion and she stops him from throwing it out.


• Relationship with Snape: meeting-of-the-minds

• Past relationships: Lily's BFF; her dad is a great "Aurora"; crush on Sirius


• Martial arts/sports: is on the Gryffindor Quidditch team


• Special pet: cat named Jigsaw


• Totally uncharacteristic Snape moments: agrees to help her with Potions after she asks out of the blue, but apart from that he's kind of mean to her


• Relationship with Snape: romcom


• Other: oh god, it's written in the present tense; WHO THE HELL IS SEVEROUS SNAPE?! THIS HAD BETTER BE A ONE-TIME TYPO! *pause* IT'S NOT! IT'S SPELLED THAT WAY EVERY TIME! GAAAH!

I almost didn't include that profile, but that bit? about his hair? I couldn't resist. lol!!

And yes, one of the best sue names. Right up there with Penelope Torchwood and Meg Rickman. No, I am not making that up, she's coming up. *laughs*

hahaha!! Me too, for that matter. And I want to have twin daughters whose animagus forms are snow leopard and puma and who are the most talented healers in five generations and who have sparkly bunnies as pets, and who have each inherited magical relics of immense power and...heh.

Mauve Bloodthorn would fit right into any B-grade fantasy novel with that name.

If there is any character who doesn't belong in a romcom, it's Snape. Did you see that mock trailer for The Shining that was around a few years ago, where it was re-voiced to make it seem like a feel-good inspirational film? If anyone was motivated to watch The Shining based on that, they would have been in for a huge surprise. That is what a romcom with Snape makes me think of. :-)

Isn't that the perfect generic fantasy name? I love it.

And yeah, it's really hard to reconcile the concept of Snape in a romcom. He tends to stare and glare and spit, y'know? hee! Plus, can you imagine being with a guy who can read your mind?
