I just haven't had much time this week. The extra driving time due to the weather is really crimping my free time for my work days. Not that you can call much of my time "free," honestly.

I've also had a strange little rush in business. In the crafting Etsy shop, no less! So that was nice. Most of it was friends and family stuff, but still, nice. Hopefully they'll leave me positive feedback and that will be helpful.

It's too cold in the house. I've set the thermostat at 68 and I might have to revise it. But grah, do not want huge bill.

I am ridiculously tired right now.

My to-do list does feel mostly attainable.

I want to write. I thought of some great lines for a story today and then it kind of evaporated.

I'm trying something new: both Google and Facebook ads for my website. Sadly, I've just realized that the pictures load slowly. I'm a bit confused, because they're thumbnails (125 pix wide) at 72 pix resolution, and I don't see why they're taking so looong. In fact, my usual 400 pix wide eBay pics (which load from the same place) don't take so long. If I click on the info, it says that the pic is scaled (Dimensions: 349px × 400px (scaled to 109px × 125px)). The full size is 400 pix, and it displays a scaled thumbnail. Does this mean that it's scaling the thumbnails each time it shows them? I'm so uneducated in these matters. If it is doing a scaling action, well, that would suck, and no wonder it's taking so long. Either that, or I'll have to go and switch it from high quality jpegs to low quality jpegs, though I hate to do that.

I've switched to Firefox 4 beta. It's interesting so far. I think I like it.

Well, this was an exercise in randomness.

Unless the thumbnail is a separate, linked, picture... it takes just as long, if not longer, to load a resized picture.

If you want to save on load time you'll need to use two pictures. A small 'thumbnail' picture which is linked to your full-sized one.

That's what I was thinking, because all the images take as long as full-size pics to load, even though they're thumbnail-sized.

Sadly, if I replace the product photo with a true thumbnail version, then when the customer gets to the individual product page, it remains a thumbnail and when they click on it, it will look goofy, I think. I could put another full size version in the little gallery underneath the main pic, but it would be hard to communicate that a different identical pic is the one you click on to see the full size. Frustrating and confusing.

I'm going to puzzle this out a little more and see what I can figure out. Thanks!!
