Back from the little jaunt.

It was a nice trip. My mother made enough food to feed approximately 34,732,351,754 people, so I am, actually, munching on leftovers as I type. Friday she made pigs-in-a-blanket and city chicken, and they were both quite tasty. Today for brunch we had lovely brunch items.

I stayed at the B&B in town, and it was absolutely lovely, except the teeny bathroom. The owner cooked two fabulous breakfasts and I loved them both quite a lot. Broiled peaches with granola and yogurt, and banana & pecan multi-grain pancakes...absolutely delightful.

My dad drove us all around for hours on Saturday. We ended up at a bookstore, and I (of course) had to spend half of the thirty minutes looking at unauthorized HP guides. (I'd never buy them; they seem to be a waste to me.) I also looked through a Photoshop magazine and was astonished at the wizardry within. They showed a picture of a model and took it step by step into a model with perfect skin, eye makeup, dress re-touching, and a completely different background. I mean, I understand that a lot of our ads and movies nowadays are altered, but still, it really drove it home.

We stopped at a little restaurant for lunch and they had a dry-erase board with specials on it. I am so internet obsessed that I thought one food item was listed as jalapeño.com when it actually was jalapeño, corn. I need to get out of the house more.

I remembered a really, really, really important plot point at some time in the last five days. So important that I was quite dismayed to see that I had left it out of the last chapter. Did I mention it was important? Ugh. So I spent about a half hour thinking how exactly I could fit it in and I came up with two mature, realistic options: squeeze it in, re-upload the chapters, and point everyone back to it at the next chapter; or just include it in the next chapter as part of a dream sequence. Great, right?

I've forgotten what the %*#&@^&* plot point was!!!

I've now wasted hours today trying to recall what it was. And I was all set to write the next chapter. (Somebody left me a review that said "OH MY GOD YOU BITCH" because I left it at such a cliffhanger! w00t!) I am just going to barge ahead wildly and hope that I recall it at some point.

Is this some kind of chronic mother disease, which they catch the moment they have kids? When my parents went to Perth last week, my mum left me with food to feed and army of starving orphans, and a mountain of fruit that whould ensure I had permamnant diarrhoea if I made any attempt to eat it all. Most of it went off - there's only so much fruit I can eat in a single week!

My sympathies on the plot-point woes. I've had that happen - I'd remember a forgottewn plot twist when several chapters later, it was meant to be exhibiting its effects. Then I'd have to find ways to get by without it. These days, I make a habit of jotting down any really important plot points I need to have. Needless to say, I still miss quite a few.

Amusingly enough, one is from the internet and just collects everyone's theories. *shakes head*

I always say that I'm going to write everything down. And yet I still have moments where I'm not close enough to paper/pen and I say, "But I'll remember this! It's really important and obvious." *sigh*
