I thought of this at work today...I've seen variations, of course, but this is just a simple little thing.

What was the first cassette tape you ever purchased? "So Red the Rose" by Arcadia
What was the first cassette single you ever purchased? I've purchased them so rarely...hm. Something by Candlebox. I only like one song and I didn't want to buy the CD for it.
What was the first lp (album on vinyl) you ever purchased? "Dark Side of the Moon", by Pink Floyd, or maybe "The Wall"
What was the first single (on vinyl) you ever purchased? "Walk Like an Egyptian" by the Bangles
What was the first CD you ever purchased? "Red Rain" by Peter Gabriel
What was the first CD single you ever purchased? "Crucify" by Tori Amos

What was the first cassette tape you ever purchased? I think it was 'Make it Big' by Wham.

What was the first single (on vinyl) you ever purchased? This was also Wham - I think it was 'Last Christmas'.

What was the first CD you ever purchased? REM's 'Automatic for the People'

Can't remember the first LP - possibly Pet Shop Boys, but not sure. I hardly had any LPs - I went straight into buying cassettes. I've hardly ever bought cassette singles or CD singles so I've no idea about those!

Oh, REM has some great songs. I love how easy it is to harmonize with Michael Stipe. They're a great band.

Yes, they're my favourite band and have been for years now. Unfortunately, I've never seen them in concert. My younger sister has seen them two or three times, and even got to speak to Mike Mills at the Glastonbury festival a couple of years ago! I'm so jealous!
