I was going to do my fractured fairy tale based on this really beautiful fairy tale I read in Cricket magazine while I was growing up.

Years ago I gave my old Cricket magazines away, though, so I don't have that issue any longer. I didn't think it would be difficult to find, though.

But I just started thinking...I have several collections of fairy tales, and I've never seen this particular one. I just now tried to look it up, but I can't find it online.

I can write it, still, and make it work, even though I haven't read it in so long...but I won't have anywhere to link it to, and I'm afraid no one will know the source story. Hmm. I might still do it anyway. It's just such an interesting idea.

argh.

ETA: Though I did find Wolverine fanfiction while searching. Odd.

ETA: I've figured it out. *shouts and flails* It is, of course, a story by an American author, rather recent, and not an older story that would be easy to find on the internet. Because it's a copyrighted work, it is only available through her book, which is OOP, and so this presents two problems. 1) Most likely, no one has read this story before so no one will know the source material. 2) The only way to find the source material is to buy it off eBay or whatnot. I'm so frustrated! It's such an awesome story, and I won't be doing it justice if I don't read the source material again before I write it. *is exasperated*

We should just incubate them in a giant styrofoam cooler until they're, like, forty.

After the Mommy moment I had yesterday, all I can say is 'What's wrong with that?'! Heh. Sadly, I guess it's just not realistic.

Yes, I heartily agree, because styrofoam really wreaks havoc with the environment.

*snorts*

maybe a plastic bubble would be better. Right now my oldest is suffering from chigger bites. The bugs seem to find her quite tasty, while they haven't bitten my youngest at all. We keep telling Holly we're going to get her a plastic bubble that she can just roll around in like a hamster, then she'll be safe from the bugs til we can figure out where they're coming from & kill them all.
