After what happened with the last entry and Alan Rickman, I thought The Voice had stopped haunting me.

I was wrong.

This music program...Connect...SonicStage...whatever the hell it is...it's quite nice. It's from Sony. Sony hates me, though.

I chose to import everything on my hard drive into the program. Great, huh? Oh, yeah, perfect. Except for one thing. It put a bunch of crap on there too. People I've never heard of, songs I've never heard, I'm sure it's a bit of marketing for them, yeah, thanks. So I'm going through one by one and deleting them if they're awful. Most of them have been awful.

So I'm listening to a track called "Closet" by someone/some band entitled Ern Yoka (that's what it reads, I swear), and I'm not really paying attention. I'm thinking, oh yeah, another stupid track where they try to make themselves sound eerie by having someone speak in the background in an affected manner.

And then I realize it's Alan Rickman.

And even worse, it's his dialogue from Closetland, one of the most chilling movies I've ever seen.

*dies again*

~looks astonished~ What the hell has this program done to your computer? It is generating its own mixes?

For the first Alan event, it played the next song (alphabetically) in my folder, which happened to be the Alan sonnet.

Then for the next Alan event, it played some weird song that they automatically downloaded to my computer because I picked Alternative music. It was some sort of odd techno/Alan's voice thing. Strange, huh?

I'm truly torn between thinking that's either incredibly cool or incredibly creepy.

It might have been okay if they had used nearly any movie except for Closetland, which creeps me right out.

~nods~ They certainly must have been going for the creep factor by choosing dialogue from that particular movie.

Now I have to go watch the movie. I'm a poor college student you know, every cent counts. =P

Never heard of 'Closetland'. What's it about that it's so creepy?

So does this mean you're keeping the song, even if it is creepy interogator Alan?

It is pretty terrifying, I warn you! It is a psychological exploration of mental/physical political torture, and though it isn't overtly gross, it is absolutely chilling. I saw it in 1992 or 1993 and I still remember it and shiver, and I never want to watch it again.

I'll quote my above reply...

No, the song was boring, boo-hoo! I can e-mail it to you if you want, though. Let me know.

Sorry. I missed the other reply. It doesn't need to be gross, which is something they forget a lot of the time. It sounds like something I should avoid, and yet it would fascinate me. I really should watch those biopics of Ed Gein at three a.m. either, but I do.

1984 by George Orwell. Different focus, though.
