Damned new TVs.
Aug. 8th, 2005 07:15 amI am attempting to hook up an Odyssey 2 video game system to see if it works, but of course both of my TVs are lacking antenna feeds. So I used a little adapter I have that translates it to a cable end, and I still couldn't get anything but a black screen and static noise.
Finally, in desperation, I went to hook up the Atari 2600 to see if the game-TV adapter even works. After having to find an appropriate power cord, an Atari game, and the Atari itself, I finally managed to get Breakout on the TV, but the adapter is definitely not well because moving it even slightly causes problems; something must be loose. Well, it is twenty years old, I suppose.
Now I must try Radio Shack to see if they carry obsolete video game adapters.
I'm going to be really angry if this stupid system doesn't work; it means that whoever sold it to me in 1991 wasn't truly honest.
Yeah, it's taken me this long to get around to hooking it up to find out.
