Roman graffiti always cracks me up.

Had a look and it all seems genuine to me. The sentiments expressed are very much like the Roman graffiti I've seen (e.g. lots of descriptions of everyone's sexual activities). Graffiti really hasn't changed all that much in 2000 years.

A couple almost seemed like a joke, but overall they sound real. I guess it's just part of the hazards of translating slang.

I don't think it's so much that they don't sound authentic, but that they sound stilted. It's tough to translate slang after 2000 years.

Yeah...exactly. I think it's just the attempt to match the slang idiom of the original into some kind of contemporary slang idiom that seems "modern." Certainly none of the thoughts or expressions themselves!

Ah, you seemed very busy, do I didn't feel the need to really remind you, it's ok. I don't have a link, but if you find wherever the calender option is for my livejournal, it's Nov. 11th.
