Good news = taxes, surprisingly enough
Apr. 3rd, 2008 06:32 amIn the last four out of five years, I've owed a bundle at tax time. Imagine owing 15% of your yearly income on April 15th, and imagine that you haven't been able to save up 15% of your yearly income and so then you have to pay it in an installment plan which makes it very difficult to pay the next 15%, and the cycle repeats itself.
Well, the good news is that I spent a lot of money last year (long trip o' doom helped) and, as a consequence, I don't owe taxes this year. I won't have to pay--or I might even get a tiny, tiny refund.
I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. I mean, I was kind of predicting it, but still, I am overwhelmingly relieved. I want to buy a house at the end of the year, and this is one of the better pieces of news.
*does the tax dance of joy (a very rare dance, let me tell you!)*
