I have been flailing about for a couple days at this point. I am in extended flailing mode. Not in a good way, either.

I have so much to do. I would list it out here, but that would be depressing for me, and boring for you.

I am also feeling so totally cranky and angry about everything, which is not my normal state of affairs. I've broken out the chocolate I planned to take with me on the trip, so that should tell you something.

I leave Friday, will be gone for 32 days to AZ. I return for a week, then I go to FL. I return for a week, then I go on my long cross-country trip. Then I return for a week, and then go to LA (PR, hooray!), and then I'm home for a couple weeks, and then I go to WI for three weeks, and then I'm home, and then I go to Prophecy, and then...

...I fall face down on the bed and sleep.

I have so much to do before I go. I have done far less than I hoped.

On top of this, I really am not caring for the moody crap, nor am I appreciative of the sudden tremendous drop in fannish self-esteem I seem to be experiencing. grrr.

No commiseration necessary. I feel better just having snarked to the universe.

No commiseration necessary.

*Hugs anyway*

Maybe I missed out on the post explaining this, but why do you travel this much? Traveling sounds like heaven, but that's a lot and with so little time home, too.

It's (mostly) for business. I work as a sales rep for a business in WI, and I work for them in two different capacities, as a traditional on-the-road sales rep, doing shows and stopping at stores...and also as a worker bee, helping them out at shows that they do. The show in AZ is a big deal, and we'll be in AZ for at least two weeks.

FL, LA, and Prophecy, however, are three vacations I'm taking, and it's making me feel a little guilty...oh, okay, a lot guilty. I just want to enjoy myself a little, but now I'm wondering...I mean, seriously, I'll never be home! eep!

Thank you so much for the hugs!!

Well, I'll pass you a cup of virtual tea in lieu of outright commiseration, if that's OK...but, whoa.

If it's any consolation, much of my f-list seems to be feeling the same right now.

At least some of those trips will be fun!

Yeah, I'm really going to need those fun trips when this is through! I'm hoping they keep my sanity going. ;)

Thanks for the virtual tea!

You're coming to Toronto. Perhaps we can set up a Lj meeting. I live about 2 hours away. I'm not sure about attending a HP conference, I only heard about them a few weeks ago. Can you share what they are like?

I've only been to one HP con, Lumos (Click here for my summaries of Lumos (http://valis2.livejournal.com/tag/lumos)), and it was a blast. There is "programming" to attend, which is comprised of panels (3-6 or so people who talk about the subject back and forth), round tables (the participants talk about the subject with one person acting as mod), and presentations (1 or 1+ people give a presentation, or present a paper about a subject). The subjects are usually interesting, covering Snape's possible redemption, crack!fic, you name it. There were also feasts with presentations, a welcoming feast and a leaving feast, and a small room where you could buy HP merchandise.

There are lots of informal events, as well, where people put together small gatherings of like-minded fans (for example, Ron Weasley fan gatherings), or just meeting up with a good online friend.

If you're snupin-minded, [livejournal.com profile] snapes_patronus and I are setting up a snupin get-together, possibly. Check out the [livejournal.com profile] snupin_meetup for more details.

Aw, thanks, I really appreciate it. I'm in advanced hyper freak-out mode, honestly, and every friendly happy thing makes me feel a little better.

Here's a virtual reality thermos of hot chocolate for you to take on your road trip - have a cupful whenever you need a small sanity break. (Don't worry about running out - there's a Perpetual Refill charm on the thermos ;-)

May you travel in safety and may your shows be rewarding.

Sounds like a cool job. A lot of work, but you get to travel! :D

Hey, no need to feel guilty! You shouldn't feel bad about taking time for yourself! And, yay Prophecy! *is so excited about next summer*

You're very welcome! *hugs some more* ;)

aww hugs. Can I have some chocolate? Please? I promise you a nice list of hp disability fics and an essay on my thoughts on them when you return from your trip. It is taking longer because I am reading more. I hope you have a safe trip and sorry your ebay program flipped on you. This is not your day.

Oh, fabulous! I'm so looking forward to the list, but really, I'm mostly looking forward to the essay. I'd love to hear your opinion and your thoughts.

The eBay program has been forgiven, but I'm very much hoping that it doesn't try this again! I'd cry.

It's the season, I think. I'm going on an interstate road trip for work purposes next week, but it's such a rarity for me I'm quite excited about it... except for all the extra work I've got to do this week that I would normally do next week. I still haven't caught up with all the work that built up over the Christmas/New Year break either. *sigh*

Oh, wow! Good luck with that. It can be quite a lot of fun, honestly, and I do enjoy it...it's the nerve-wracking work leading up to it that's a problem.

maybe I can see you while you are in WI? call me and I'll drive out and we can get dinner or something, or maybe you can come to Madison for a night and stay with us. I know you're busy but I so rarely see you. *begs prettily*

I so wish I could, but I'm not sure it's going to work out. We're getting ready for AZ, and taking down the second store completely, so I have a feeling we will have only a minute of spare time. Worse, I have to hit the ground running when we get back, because I have to be back in MI ASAP, because I might have a show that very weekend, in OH. wah!

*hugs* I'm so sorry, sweetie. I'm so completely stressed right now, and it would be so lovely to see both of you and your smiling faces, but I have a feeling I'm going to be going bananas.
