According to InsuranceAuto.org, these are the top ten most stolen cars in Ohio:

1. 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass
2. 1994 Dodge Caravan
3. 1993 Buick Century
4. 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier
5. 1994 Plymouth Voyager
6. 1996 Ford Taurus
7. 1996 Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee
8. 1990 Buick Le Sabre
9. 1991 Chevrolet Blazer
10. 1999 Pontiac Grand Am

WTF, Ohio? When was the last time you bought a new car? Srsly.

They need to steal 'em for the parts to keep their other rustbuckets going! :P

That is the only explanation. I can't imagine why these cars would be popular in any other way.

You know, that makes a lot of sense. One thing all of those cars have in common is that they went for several model years in a row with no major changes. So the parts from a car made in one year would work just as well for cars made in other years.

Either that, or Ohio car thieves suffer from low self-esteem and a lack of ambition.

But I still can't stop thinking, "1990 Buick LeSabre?!"

[scratches head]

[thinks really hard]

A folded-up walker fits easily in the back seat? Other than that, I've got nothin'.
