Canoe trip

valis2Husband and I went on a teeny little canoe trip today.
The day was absolutely lovely.
The river really is beautiful.
A pretty waterlily blossom.
I had a picture of a big turtle, but it didn't come out. So here, a couple herons.
I love the pattern of the water over the shallows.
There were sections of the river were it looked like waving prairie grass...unfortunately, the picture can't compare to the subtle, hypnotic wave of the weeds underwater.

There was one part of the river that looked like an enchanted faerie realm. It was amazingly beautiful. Sadly, my pictures can't even approximate the lovely look.
And then we waited to get picked up.
We had such a great time!

Date: 2009-08-25 10:54 am (UTC)It's such a pretty river--and there's a nice current, too, so it's very calming to drift downstream at points. And there was almost no one else on the river, which made it even better!
