grah!

My first not-happy feedback on Etsy.

A customer bought two items on 10-24. Never sent money by Paypal. I've received no communication whatsoever from them. Now, 90% of people who buy items and don't pay immediately end up paying within a month. The other 10% don't pay ever, or pay after a month has gone buy.

So usually I don't even bother to email. I don't like to drive people crazy about their purchases. On eBay, this is a good thing, because people are usually watching the next set of auctions, or checking what's in my store. I should have known that this is not really the same thing on Etsy. They have that cart system, which is a little different.

Anyway, I received neutral, misspelled feedback today from the customer saying they have not received the merchandise. To which I replied in a convo that I had not received payment, so of course I have not shipped the items.

Now, the customer might have sent a money order, and since I haven't checked the mailbox in a week, it might be sitting there. But I would be surprised.

I think I'm pissed off because the customer didn't bother to convo me first and find out what's going on. Instead, there's this preemptive strike which makes me furious, because now they're holding me over a barrel. I admit to some fault in not sending a convo to find out what was happening, but still, the convo system works both ways.

grah.

ETA: Husband checked the PO box on the way home. Nothing. So yeah. I have definitely not received payment. *fumes* And no answer yet. I sent them another email earlier, in fact.

ETA: Aaaaaaand I've just received a payment from her. No apology. No note. Nothing.

And guess what? She's left neutral feedback all over the place for a ton of other sellers, including someone who had 1000+ positive feedback and not a single neutral before their transaction with her. Class act, this one.

Can you neg on Etsy? I'd give her a big fat neg for being a dumbass and then block her from bidding on my items. I'm so tired of stupid jackasses. >:(

How can they be holding you over a barrel if they have already left feedback?

I totally want to neg her, but I'm waiting to see what this kiss-n-makeup thing is.

The barrel: she's initiated kiss-n-makeup, and she probably wants something in exchange for her changing her feedback to positive. grah.

How about she sends you the payment? That would be good first step. She probably forgot to pay. :P

And yeah...don't leave her any feedback until you get things straightened out. She might be able to get her neutral feedback back again.

I hate wasting time on idiots. >:|

Yeah, I am just floored by this. But hopefully it'll all get worked out.

There is only one way that I'll be super nice about the entire situation, and that's if she has sent the payment and it's languishing in my PO box. Other than that? NOPE.

I hate wasting time on idiots, too. Worse is the fact that (as you know) I just get so crazy about this sort of thing. My hands were shaking after I read the convo.

Wow....I get pissed off but not that badly! I do remember my first negative (unjustly received) on an eBay account I'd had for 9 years...I was FURIOUS (but at least at that time, I could still give the stupid buyer a well-deserved neg -- they never used that account again).

But yes, I've found that being nice will often get the problem solved and make the other person feel sheepish, to boot!

I do wish I hadn't been so flat in the email--I'm usually much more friendly, but this was just so GRAH. It's another Etsy lesson. :(

I'll be nice, as always, but I'll only be super nice if it turns out it's in my PO box. heh.

How frustrating! I'd go with an entirely-not-your-fault here - it's entirely the customer's responsibility to pay in a timely manner... I'm sorry - how annoying!

There's only one chance that it's my fault, which is if her payment is sitting in my PO Box. Other than that? I will be very cranky about this. :( Thanks for the sympathy!

All it takes is one bad egg to try and spoil it for the legitimate people, and on ebay this is especially frustrating.

Oh, absolutely. I have looked through the feedback this person has been leaving, and it's just plain rude. Lots and lots of neutrals, with no explanation whatsoever! Makes me so angry. :(

*grrr* Why did they cancel neutral and negative feedback for buyers? Why? Such people deserve to be kicked in the behind.

Oh, this is on Etsy, where it's still allowed. But she has finally paid, and if I do the "kiss and make up" option then we both get positives. Still, what an idiot!

The intrawebz has made some people just that much more ignorant. Since they don't have to deal with you in person they can be that much more stoopid to you.

Don't let that one iDiot get the better of you.

I'm just so tired of idiocy! wah. At least I'm a step closer to resolving this. I'll ship it out and accept her kiss-and-make-up thing. And then wash my hands!
