Snape websites
  • Dark Potions: One of my two favorite Snape sites. [livejournal.com profile] mysduende has a lovely collection of photos, recommendations, and links to fanfiction. The two standout areas (in my mind) are: the "Weekly Reads", where she writes detailed reviews of Snape!fics, and the "Frockcoat Fetish", where she devotes several photos to exploring the loveliness that is movie!Snape's wardrobe. A great site, top-notch, indispensible for those who love Snape.

  • Designer Potions: My other favorite Snape site. [livejournal.com profile] snapesforte has pulled out all the stops in creating a canon!Snape extravaganza. She is redesigning the site right now, and it is Flash-based, be warned. It's absolutely worth it to check it out. The standout here, besides the creative interaction on the site (reminds me of JKR's site!), is her "Sleuthing" section. This is an exhaustive resource, and a must-read. She has numerous essays on nearly every aspect of the Potions master. She covers theories, facts, language, clothes...really, it's excellent.

  • Grusha's Severus Snape: An amusing site featuring an Automatic Detention Dispenser and the Pants Game, which has some amusing moments.

  • Snapey Screencaps: Just what it says; high quality screencaps from the HP movies featuring Snape.

  • Severus Snape's Slytherin Society: Lots of links, photos, and artwork.

  • Logospilgrim's Site: Pics of [livejournal.com profile] logospilgrim's costuming work and many pics of her dressed as Snape in various settings including cemeteries. The site has strong religious overtones.

Fanart Non-LJ links that take you to galleries/individual works

Fanart LJ artists (most have links on their info page) (Some art may feature slash, or adult content)
  • [livejournal.com profile] ac1d6urn Gorgeous, amazing art, I love her work. Here is her coloring of a [livejournal.com profile] gwyllion piece.

  • [livejournal.com profile] adamasoda Work with an amazing raw sensuality, powerful.

  • [livejournal.com profile] aerynstales Draws illustrations for her SS/OFC work.

  • [livejournal.com profile] brevisse Lovely art, her Severus is awesome. This is an amazing collaboration between Isis and Brevisse about Snape and his life, haunting, poignant, and beautifully done.

  • [livejournal.com profile] djinniyah One of my favorites, absolutely. Her art has such a raw, edgy feel to it, and the use of color is amazing. It is vibrant and powerful.

  • [livejournal.com profile] gwyllion Beautiful art, all available for viewing at [livejournal.com profile] gwyll_junk. Another artist who fills her work with light. Does some funny work, and some poignant work.

  • [livejournal.com profile] karasu_hime As I said about her gallery above...lovely, ethereal, sweet drawings.

  • [livejournal.com profile] nassima Not a lot of Snape. Slash! Has a passionate style and captures erotica quite well.

  • [livejournal.com profile] nix___ Lovely sketchwork.

  • [livejournal.com profile] pen_and_umbra Her photo-shopping skills have to be seen to be believed. They look like real ads. Witty, and perfectly composed.

  • [livejournal.com profile] sapphiresnape Her minature Snape office is astonishing!

  • [livejournal.com profile] scarah2 Stick art has never been so amusing.

  • [livejournal.com profile] serpenatrix Her funny Alan Rickman montages (complete with amusing commentary) never fail to make me laugh.

I know little to nothing about artwork; these are the recommendations of an inexperienced but enthusiastic Snape-a-holic. I hope you enjoy looking through some of the art. I hope I have not offended anyone with my less-than-proper terminology.

Oh my god, I made your list! Squee! Heh...thank you! Though I have all my stuff up at deviantart too (may make it easier than hunting through my lj...under aerynstales of course!) and at SH's Illusions (under just Aeryn). :)

Thanksss for wielding your pimp stick in my direction. I'm glad you like the new Flash-iness of Designer Potions. A couple of people whinged about it, and I explained to them that the site is now Muggle proof.

Mwhahahahaha!

Thank you for mentioning me, Valis. :)

I've enjoyed looking through the links. There are several artists I haven't seen before (and I was convinced I've seen them all, heh, not even close).

Loved the miniature Snape office by [livejournal.com profile] sapphiresnape! What a unique idea.

I love your work! You're amazing.

Too bad my fanfic bookmarks are nowhere near as organized and easy to find as my fanart bookmarks, or I'd do a fanfiction entry, too, and mention how awesome you are there as well!

Maybe I'll try anyway.

Fanfic? *flattered grin* Thank you.

I'm with you about fanfic bookmarks. One of these days I'll get my links together and post another list of fic recs, but so far I only have a bunch of names and titles in a text file and am hoping they'll come up on google when I start searching for the actual sites.

I only have two bookmark folders for fanfic: "Amazing fics", which only has two, and "Comfort fics", which has all of my sentimental faves. I probably wouldn't share the Comfort folder, as it has mostly...well...fics that I chose for sentimental reasons, more than quality of writing.

I do have several Rec pages bookmarked all over the place, though.

I think it would be too much to try to go through and remember all of the good fics I've read...I never bookmark most of them, honestly. Besides, there are so many rec'ers out there who are really good at what they do.

*grin* Love the amazing/comfort fics division. I can definitely relate to you there. There are quite a few of comfort fics saved on my HD as well. My text file library is growing every day. I usually don't trust the sites to stay up for very long, would rather have a copy just in case.

True, there are many rec'ers, but an extra rec list is always helpful. I love to go through different ones and see how different people choose their favorite stories. Sadly I haven't followed my own advice and didn't post as many recs as I probably should've. I draw illustrations instead. :D

Not that we wouldn't appreciate the recs, but the artwork is so appreciated. Thank you for putting so many lovely images out here for us to enjoy!

I haven't been over at Syrena's Slytherin Society in ages. I used to practically live over there until Bravenet started giving my computer fits. There's a forum there too which can be really good sometimes, but you have to watch for invasions of movie-contaminated teenies. Syrena's "Snape in the Bath" pic is The Definitive Snape for my money.

Awww, chucks. I'm honored to be pimped so visibly on your LJ. Thanks :) I'm glad you find some value out of Dark Potions. I feel a bit guilty lately for not updating as regularly as I used to - partially because I'm printerless at the moment - but mainly I think it has to do with the fact that I'm longing to completely revamp the site. I put Dark Potions up very quickly without thinking much about how the site looks. My main objective at the time was to keep track of fics that I read and liked a whole lot. My 30 something brain just doesn't retrain the amount of fic I'd been reading at the time (about 3 or 4 fics at once.) I've calmed down since then. I think I've already read a lot of the gems - either that or I'm jaded. ;) At this point, the 'Frock Coat Fetish' section could do with quite a few new Snape clothing studies based off PoA photoes. One of these days, I'll get around to it... *sighs*

Oh, and.. I'm pleased that you get my art. Tickled actually. Thank you for the nice comments. :)

Everybody should take a nice heaping helping of apathy, and then we'd all be staring at Snape and drooling. What a perfect world that would be!

We'll have to sequester them all in a room and provide them with materials and a computer to transmit their work to us.

Every so often we'll sound a bell and a giant poster (a different one each day) will descend from the ceiling and give them a lovely view of Alan Rickman or some lovely Snape drawing to inspire them further. Then it's back to work!

I have no *earthly* idea how I missed this entry. I also missed another entry in your LJ right after this that I want to reply to. :( Honestly, I dyed my hair back to its original color, but it's obviously done *nothing* to help my brain...

Thanks for the plug, Valis! Every now and then I find people who give me a shout, and it is very much appreciated. <3<3<3
