This is entirely
deviantauthor's fault.

This is Pita, or, as I ended up calling her, Peach. She was my cat completely. Followed me around everywhere. Jumped up on the counter to say hello (sometimes into the bowl of soup I was eating). Would steal earrings and shiny things. Loved to sleep under the covers. Was dumb as a box of rocks, but sweet as the day is long.

EXTREME CLOSE-UP WHOA

Reclining fluffy belly awww.

Now this was my baby. His original name was Midnight, which lasted all of twelve hours. He was Kitty Meowsey for a very long time, and then he became Little Moo, which was really his name, I think. He lived to be nearly twenty-two. I love the gleam in his eye here. He was mostly dignified, quite certain in his place in this world, full of talk. He had such a wonderful voice, and could be very sweet when he wanted to. I loved him so very much. Still miss him tremendously.

Bizarrely enough, one of my fave pics. Tusker Moo!

You can see his adorable grey shoulder. He really was going grey at the end. *smooches the Moo and Peach pics*

One of these days I'll get around to scanning pictures of my beloved departed Wicca. She died 2 1/2 years ago, but I'm still not sure if I could go through photos without crying!

Date: 2006-03-14 02:25 am (UTC)But she was so warm! I'd have to boot her out after an hour or so because she was like a furnace.

Date: 2006-03-14 06:31 am (UTC)Those are some gorgeous pics - not just couase they're gorgeous kitties, but because the actual photos are really good. Now I want to go give my kitty a cuddle. He's not very photogenic, because he's all black - he always looks too shiny in photos.

Date: 2006-03-14 11:12 am (UTC)And of course we have Dawn, who might be about as bright and as gentle as your peaches was.

Date: 2006-03-14 11:56 am (UTC)Whenever I try to take pictures of dogs, they get excited and run at me, so I have lots of blurry dog pics. Peach & Moo were pretty easy to take pictures of. I think you're right! They probably compare notes. "I have two pictures of me on the fridge!"

Date: 2006-03-14 11:59 am (UTC)Moo looked much better in pics when he got older and began going grey...before that he always looked flat in pictures without a lot of light. He was such a sweetie! I miss having a cat.

Date: 2006-03-14 01:16 pm (UTC)I'd so love to have a cat, but it would not be fair to have her inside all day, I guess. So, for now, I stay cat-less. :-(
I hope you will have a cat again some day.

Date: 2006-03-15 06:37 pm (UTC)Oh, hysterical! Does Dawn ever run into walls or fall off couches? Peach did all the time. She was a bit klutzy. She would look at you and you could just see that there was nothing going on in her head at all, except happy ignorance.

Date: 2006-03-15 06:40 pm (UTC)That said, I think a cat could be happy in a 1000 ft apt, but I wouldn't. I would want some separate place for litterbox, and I just don't have it here.

Date: 2006-03-15 07:05 pm (UTC)And of course you are right, outside there is a lot more danger for a cat. In a rural area it is easier to let them go outside than in a city. I wouldn't want to take the risk that the cat gets run over by a car. This happens so often and is really sad. Parent's of a friend of mine had a very clever cat. Every time she heard a car engine, she left the street.
1000 ft are about 90 square metres? That seems a big enough place to share for a woman and a cat. :-) A friend of mine,
I didn't want to imply that a cat is always unhappy when kept inside. Maybe most of them feel just fine that way. It would be the best if there was a way to tell them apart from those types who'd like to run free, even at a young age.

Date: 2006-03-15 07:29 pm (UTC)It's a big enough place for a cat, oh yes, but I just don't have a good place for a litterbox. :(
(no subject)
Date: 2006-03-15 10:01 pm (UTC)I imagine it would better have tiles than carpet, because cats like to scratch in the box. From what I know of cat people, most of them share their bathroom with the cat's litterbox. In my place, the bathroom is really tiny; it would be very difficult to squeeze a litterbox in.

Date: 2006-03-15 10:39 pm (UTC)And with the Omega litter box and the litter locker it is not problem to have that on a halfway acceptabl esurface. (No, I am not getting a provision ;-)

Date: 2006-03-17 03:42 pm (UTC)Seems I can never resist kitty pictures. Not to mention fluffy bellies. Whenever my kitten (of 5-6 years) goes on her back, I must pet the belly, no matter if I've developed an allergy or not. Fluffiness! *washes hands*
Peach looks to have longer hair than mine (thank heavens). And tusks? Hee!
