So where is everybody these days?

I'm just wondering. I have accounts at JF, IJ, DW, FB, Twitter. I don't do fannish stuff on FB & Twitter, but I'm not certain there's much of a fannish presence there, considering the size of fics and such.

I haven't been monitoring IJ or DW at all.

Is DW growing? Are there more fics and fans to be found there? Should I start watching DW again?

What are your fannish social media habits like right now, flist? I'm very curious.

ETA: Oh, and where are you archiving? I'm really liking AO3, personally, and I'm seeing that some fandoms are using it more and more.

I never check JF or IJ anymore. I do keep up with the other 3 when I have time. I also love tumblr, but that has an entirely different crowd and mode of expression. But I'd love it if more LJ people came over that way.

It really seems like people are wandering off in all directions. I kind of miss the LJ I knew when I was first here; but I'm sure everybody says that about everything. Nothing ever lasts, after all.

Still, I'm a little scared by LJ's desire to have social games now and that sort of thing. :(

Yes, it does! I wish it weren't that way, but I am one of the people to blame. I just don't have the time I used to before starting school again. I hope to blog long-form again when I finish. I still read, but don't post. That's why I like tumblr, it's so much easier to do it there and I don't feel the pressure to write... I can just post a video or picture and a few sentences. So easy.

I hate the social games and the way LJ is going... I wish we could combine everything we see and still have a community. That's what I miss: the unique form of interaction that is here.

It really is unique here. The longer entry limits and the threaded commenting have really created a particular community that I like very much. :)
